Ana Lucía Ruano Nieto, Ph.D.

Ana Lucía Ruano Nieto was born in Ecuador, her studies were carried out at the Central University of Ecuador, where she obtained a doctorate in Medicine and Surgery. He completed a masters degree in Infectious and Parasitic Diseases at the Federal University of Goias - Brazil and has a doctorate in the same field of studies, granted by the University of Salamanca - Spain.

He was linked to research through several projects on topics associated with public health and basic research related to his professional training. At the international level, at the University of Salamanca in Spain as principal investigator of the project: ‘Fasciolosis: parenteral and oral vaccination trials with native and recombinant FABPs antigens and natural and synthetic immunomodulators’; at the Federal University of Goiás in Brazil, he was a medical researcher of the project: ‘Clinical-epidemiological study of laboratory parasites in immunosuppressed '. In Ecuador, through the Prometheus project, she was the director of several programs such as: 'National Program for the multidisciplinary approach to neglected parasitoses in the country', which consists of five projects and the 'Laboratory epidemiological clinical study of helminthosis (strongyloidosis) in normal and immunosuppressed population in Ecuador'.

He has developed more than 23 publications related to epidemic issues, parasitosis, among others. The most recent are: “The alkylphospholipid edelfosine shows activity against Strongyloides venezuelensis and induces apoptosis –like celle death”, published in 2016 by Acta Tropicana; "The 1, 2, 3, of experimentation with laboratory animals", published in 2016 by the Peruvian Journal of Experimental Medicine and Public Health.

Her professional, academic and research work has been awarded nationally and internationally four times, including: first prize in the First National Therapeutic Research Contest in Amebiasis and / or Giardiasis with the work: “Efficacy of dichloroacetylquinolinol (quifamide) in the treatment of giardiasis and \ or intraluminal amebiasis ”, Ecuador. At the 2004 World Congress of Internal Medicine held in Spain he obtained a Best poster presentation for the work: “Cryptic parasite infection in recent west african immigrants with elevated esinophil percentage but without eosinophilia”

 

Most of his professional activity has been developed as a doctor in hospitals in Ecuador, Brazil and Spain. In 2014, she joined CEAACES as an external evaluator; and, in 2016, she was Assistant Secretary of Scientific Research at SENESCYT.

Silvia Vega Ugalde, Ph.D.

Doctor in Social Sciences with specialization in Andean Studies and Master in History with mention in Andean History, degrees obtained in the Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences (FLACSO Ecuador). Sociologist and PhD in Sociology graduated from the University of Cuenca-Ecuador.

Professor at the Central University of Ecuador since 1999, at the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences.

Long-standing social scientific researcher, in history issues; gender; social and solidarity economy, on which he has published innumerable books and articles.

 

Social activist committed to defending the rights of women and other social movements in Ecuador.

Mauro Cerbino Arturi, Ph.D.

Born in Rome, he has a Ph.D. with a Specialization in Cultural Anthropology, from the University of Rome "La Sapienza". He subsequently completed a PhD in Urban Anthropology, from the Rovira i Virgili University of Spain. Professor and researcher at the Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences FLACSO, Ecuador headquarters, where he served as the first coordinator of the Master's Program in Communication, coordinator of the Specialization in Youth and society in Latin America and dean of the Department of International Studies and Communication.

He has taught more than one hundred courses and presentations at various Ecuadorian, Latin American and European universities on topics on: youth, youth cultures and violence, as well as media, culture and politics and community communication.

Author of more than fifty publications among books, book chapters and articles of scientific journals and director of several investigations among which stand out as more recent; in research papers: Study of the general role of local media in the future landscape of Ecuadorian media; in publications: co-author of the book: The Citizen Links of President Rafael Correa. Between the exaltation of the people and the fight against the media; author of the book: The place of violence, critical perspectives on youth gangs; co-author of the book: Beyond gangs; Violence, youth and resistance in the globalized world.

He has worked as a professor in several universities and higher institutes of the country such as the Simón Bolívar Andean University, Catholic University of Guayaquil, University of Cuenca, Central University of Ecuador, Casagrande University of Guayaquil, as well as in the Municipality of Rome, in Italy .

 

He was director of ICONOS, scientific journal of FLACSO, and director of the radio of this same institution. Former columnist for the newspaper El Telégrafo, and communication advisor in public and private sector institutions in the country.

Holger Aníbal Capa Santos, Ph.D.

He was born in Catacocha, province of Loja. He obtained the titles of: Mathematician at the National Polytechnic School, EPN; Master in Business Management, National Polytechnic School, EPN; Doctor of Statistics (Ph.D.), Pierre et Marie Curie University, Paris, France. He has attended and participated in more than 70 national and international events and has published around 60 documents, including articles, books, monographs, etc.

 

He has taught at several postgraduate faculties and institutes of the National Polytechnic School, EPN, Higher Polytechnic School of the Coast, Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences - Quito Branch, Institute of Higher National Studies, Universidad Andina Simón Bolívar, Central University of Ecuador, University of Cuenca, Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador, San Francisco University of Quito and International University of Ecuador.

Mónica Sonia Peñaherrera León, Ph.D.

 

He was born in Guayaquil (Ecuador) 37 years ago. It's Ph.D. in Psychopedagogy and has a Diploma of Advanced Studies in Quality of Education from the University of Jaén (Spain). She graduated as a Bachelor of Science in Education, at the Private Technical University of Loja (UTPL); He has studies at the Faculty of Psychology of the Universidad Guayaquil. She is also a primary school teacher by the Rita Lecumberri Pedagogical Institute and a basic education by the UTPL.

She has two levels of official accreditations as a professor - researcher of the Spanish university system conferred by the National Agency for Accreditation and Evaluation (ANECA) and the Andalusian Knowledge Agency (AGAE), by the Autonomous Community of Andalusia, - mechanism incardinated within the system of quality assurance of universities configured by the Organic Law of Universities (LOMLOU, 2007) -.

He was a research professor at the University of Jaén, in Andalusia, Spain. He has acted as a speaker at national and international conferences. He has been part of the scientific committee of relevant conferences in education, organized by the University of Malaga and the Basque Country. She is the author of several scientific publications: papers, book chapters and books. She is an article reviewer for an international scientific journal, at the express request of the Educar Magazine, Inclusive School, among others.

He was Prometheus of SENESCYT "Old Wise Men". Predoctoral Fellow of the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Spain, and Fellow of the Iberoamerican Postgraduate Association (AUIP) to conduct postdoctoral research.

He has an Honorable Mention in the VI edition "Andalusia Awards on Migration", awarded by the Ministry of the Government-Board of Andalusia, in the original program "E-Cultures", in which universities and educational centers of education of Primary level of 7 Latin American countries, subsidized by the Andalusian Agency for International Cooperation. He obtained 1st place in the “Positive Contributions Award for immigration in Andalusia” (University of Huelva) in the educational field.

He has made 65 publications among papers, books, book chapters, presentations, proceedings, among others; all in the field of Pedagogy and Education. His lines of research are: research-based learning, intercultural education, new technologies applied to education, teaching, innovation and teacher training. She is part of the research group Development and Research of Education in Andalusia (HUM-427) and of the Iberoamerican Network RINACE and is a principal investigator of projects financed in competitive calls by the Junta de Andalucía with funds from the European Union.

She has taught continuing education courses for the Spanish Public Administration, included in the Autonomous Government Plan, with funds from the European Union (occupational trainer, trainer of trainers, professional orientation, etc.); as well as courses for Spanish and Ecuadorian teachers with different themes in education and educational research.
